Lyons and Pakchar are a theater and songwriting duo based in New York City. The two made history as the first theater composing team to be signed to Peer Music for publishing. Their music and lyrics have been featured on Apple TV (Fraggle Rock), BET Plus, CBS's Sunday Morning Show, Carnegie Hall's Voices of Hope Festival and Lincoln Center’s Broadway Songbook Series. They, along with Relentless Award-winning playwright Harrison David Rivers, are currently developing their musical Five Points with Hamilton's Andy Blankenbuehler. Their works have played or been developed at Roundabout Theater Company, Lincoln Center, Papermill Playhouse, Flint Rep, The Old Globe, Goodspeed Musicals, Seattle Rep, Joe's Pub, NAMT and more. Lyons and Pakchar are 2020 Jonathan Larson Grant finalists. Douglas Lyons is an actor, writer, director, composer-lyricist and playwright. He served as a writer and composer on Apple TV’s 2022 series Fraggle Rock. Douglas made his Broadway playwriting debut with Chicken and Biscuits. As an actor - Broadway: Beautiful (Original Cast) and The Book of Mormon. Tours: Rent, Dreamgirls and The Book of Mormon 1st National. His other theater writing credits include: Polkadots (Off Broadway Alliance Winner Best Family Show, Atlantic Theater Company). Ethan D. Pakchar is a composer, writer, and guitarist. Currently in production for the short animated film “Morning Joy” (Producer/Writer/Composer) with Serbian production company Talesgate Animation. Upcoming album: “A Journey Through Breaths” (Composer) under the pseudonym “The Mindful M00se" implementing techniques that guides listeners to actively breathe and meditate to the music.
As a guitarist, Pakchar has played for Sara Bareilles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jennifer Hudson, Billy Porter, Cynthia Erivo, the Radio City Orchestra, and the Broadway productions of Hamilton, Wicked, Book of Mormon, Lion King, and Dear Evan Hansen.
